Star Wars: Unlimited, like other similar competitive TCGs, maintain its own list of banned cards to allow players to enjoy the metagame better. Suspended cards are not allowed to be included in decks (zero copies) in the format they are banned in. Each card is given in-depth reasons from Fantasy Flight Games for the reason of their suspension.

FAQ
What is a suspended card?
A suspended card is not legal to play in any event in that format (including both casual and competitive events). The Unlimited design & development team will have regular check-ins—at least once per set—in which we’ll evaluate whether cards should be added to or removed from the suspended list for each format and update the community accordingly. These updates will be planned around competitive event seasons as much as possible.
How do we choose to suspend a card?
We don’t anticipate suspending cards often, but will be ready to take that step if a situation arises that warrants it. Several factors are weighed when deciding to suspend a card, including:
- Dominance. We’ll look at suspending a card if an archetype or individual card has a disproportionately high representation among decks being played in events, particularly among top finishers and winning decklists. We want a diverse metagame in which a variety of decks are playable and will take action if that diversity is being suppressed.
- Longevity. We’ll be more willing to take action if a card or deck has been dominant for an extended period of time. We want to give players time to react and adapt to a powerful strategy, but if we see the same archetype overwhelming the field month after month we’ll be more inclined to take action.
- Play Pattern. At its heart, Unlimited is built around interaction between players and compelling decisions: action sequencing, combat, resourcing, etc. If a powerful deck emerges that fundamentally undermines those core play patterns and decisions—for instance, a deck that wins via an infinite combo that’s difficult to reasonably interact with—we may take action even that deck has not achieved a high level of dominance.
How are cards removed from the suspended list?
The decision to remove a card from suspension will be based on evaluation of the current metagame and new cards released since the initial suspension to determine whether the suspended card could safely return in a new environment. While we’ll be careful about bringing back a card that’s proven problematic in the past, we do want to keep the suspended list as minimal as possible and will proactively explore opportunities to return cards to legality.
